Radio Talent Terms and Conditions


Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. By accessing or using the Radio Talent website, at the URL/domain name http://www.radiotalent.com.au and/or any Content or Services therein, you, as a Radio Talent Member and user of the Site, hereby accept and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions, and any additional terms & conditions and/or Site Policies governing specific services provided on the Site, as may be added from time to time. These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding and enforceable agreement between you and the owner/s of Radio Talent.

Radio Talent reserves the right (in its sole and absolute discretion) to modify the Terms and Conditions without prior warning or notice. You agree that your continued participation in and/or the use of the Site after such modification shall constitute acceptance of the modifications and your agreement to abide by and be bound by such modifications. As such, Radio Talent recommends and advises you to regularly visit this web page to review the prevailing Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with any of the above, please discontinue your use of the Site and/or any Content or Services therein and do not register to be a Radio Talent Member. You must read these Terms and Conditions, and click that you have read them where asked before accessing or using the Site.

1. DEFINITIONS
“Agreement” means the Terms and Conditions and any additional terms and/or Site Policies which may be applicable at different stages of usage of the Site.
"Content” means any and all data, information, articles, films, materials, sound recordings and/or images that Radio Talent posts, uploads or transmits on or through the Site (including without limitation all Intellectual Property rights that such items contain).
"Claim" means any action, claim, proceeding or demand whatsoever, whether presently existing or arising at any time in the future and whether referable to events or circumstances which have already occurred or which may occur in the future.
"Force Majeure Event" means anything outside Radio Talent's reasonable control including, but not limited to, fire, storm, flood, earthquake, explosion, war, invasion, rebellion, sabotage, epidemic, labour dispute, labour shortage and any act or omission (including laws, regulations, disapprovals or failures to approve) of any third person (including, but not limited to, subcontractors, customers, governments or government agencies) and including, without limitation, user or third party internet connectivity issues, issues with user or third party hardware and any issues with user or third party software.
"Intellectual Property" means any and all intellectual and industrial property rights anywhere in the world (including present and future intellectual property rights) including (but not limited to) rights in respect of or in connection with:
(a) any related confidential information, know-how or any right to have information kept confidential;
(b) copyright (including future copyright and rights in the nature of or analogous to copyright);
(c) inventions (including patents);
(d) trade marks, service marks and other related marks;
(e) designs;
(f) business names, domain names and company names;
(g) semiconductor rights, eligible layouts and circuit layouts;
(h) software, software programs and source code; and
(i) plant breeders’ rights,
whether or not existing at the date of this Agreement and whether or not registered or registrable and includes any and all variations, modifications or enhancements to each of them together with any application or right to apply for registration of those rights and includes all renewals and extensions.
"Privacy Statement" means the Radio Talent privacy statement that is in force from time to time and available here.
"Radio Talent Administration" means Radio Talent and its employees, officers or agents who are engaged in the management and/or administration of the Site.
"Radio Talent Live Radio Stream" means the internet radio station which is broadcast from the Site.
"Radio Talent Member" means a member of the Site.
"Radio Talent Membership" means membership of the Site.
"Radio Talent Membership ID" means the Radio Talent user name that is created upon registration of Radio Talent Membership.
"Radio Talent Member Profile" means the information that Radio Talent Members enter on their profile page.
"Radio Talent Radio Fee" means the fee you must pay to Radio Talent in order to broadcast a show on the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream.
"Radio Talent Recruitment Database" is a database which contains information about Radio Talent Members who wish to make themselves available for the Radio Talent Recruitment Service.
"Radio Talent Recruitment Profile" means the optional information that you may provide in connection with the Radio Talent Recruitment Service.
"Radio Talent Registered Employers" means prospective employers of persons in the radio industry who are registered in connection with the Radio Talent Recruitment Service.
"Services" means all services provided by Radio Talent to Radio Talent Members in connection with the Site.
"Site" means the URL/domain name: http://www.radiotalent.com.au and/or any Content or Services therein.
"Site Policies" means such policies that apply or relate to the Site and are published by Radio Talent on the Site from time to time.
"User Content” means any and all data, information, articles, films, materials, sound recordings and/or images that Radio Talent Members post, upload or transmit on or through the Site (including without limitation all Intellectual Property rights that such items contain).

2. SCOPE OF THIS AGREEMENT
2.1 The Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Site, the Content and the Services.
2.2 By accessing the Site, Radio Talent Members agree to comply with and observe all applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice and directives including (without limitation) the laws of Australia in connection with access to, and use of, the Site.
2.3 By accessing, using and/or performing transactions on the Site, Radio Talent Members are deemed to be a user of the Site.
2.4 Radio Talent makes no representation that the Content is appropriate or available for use in other locations/jurisdictions outside Australia or New Zealand.

3. AIRCHECK
3.1 Radio Talent offers to provide you with feedback and advice on Radio Programs that you produce, either by yourself or with another person(s) (Aircheck Service).
3.2 Please refer to the Aircheck Guidelines for more information about the timing and process.
3.3 Radio Talent undertakes and agrees to provide the Aircheck Service in a timely manner and to seek to provide you with advice and feedback that is useful to you. However, Radio Talent does not warrant or guarantee that the Aircheck Service will provide you with any particular employment prospects, work, leads or other outcomes.

4. RADIO TALENT RECRUITMENT SERVICE
4.1 As a Radio Talent Member:
4.1.1 you will automatically become a member of the Radio Talent Recruitment Database;
4.1.2 you acknowledge and agree that the information contained in your Radio Talent Member Profile will be publicly available;
4.1.3 you have the option of completing a Radio Talent Recruitment Profile. Your Radio Talent Recruitment Profile will not be publicly available. However, you acknowledge and agree that it may be viewed by Radio Talent Administration. Radio Talent will not provide that information to anyone else without your consent.
4.2 Please refer to the Radio Talent Recruitment Guidelines for more information about the Radio Talent Recruitment Service.
4.3 You acknowledge and agree that Radio Talent Administration may contact you about employment opportunities. It may do so based on information provided in your Radio Talent Member Profile and Radio Talent Recruitment Profile.

5. RADIO TALENT LIVE RADIO STREAM
5.1 Radio Talent provides Radio Talent Members with the chance to broadcast their work on the internet via the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream.
5.2 If you want to broadcast a show on the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream, you must:
5.2.1 Pay the Radio Talent Radio Fee, as specified by Radio Talent.
5.2.2 Provide Radio Talent with your show in the form and manner specified in the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream Guidelines.
5.3 By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you undertake and warrant that:
5.3.1 Any show that you seek to broadcast via the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream is original.
5.3.2 That you own all of the Intellectual Property rights in connection with the show.
5.3.3 That your show is original and has not been previously broadcast anywhere else.
5.3.4 That the show will not be defamatory, obscene, constitute an invasion of privacy or give rise to any Claim.
5.4 You acknowledge and agree that your show will only be broadcast on Radio Talent for a limited time period and on a limited number of occasions, as specified in the Radio Talent Live Radio Stream Guidelines.
5.5 The Radio Talent Live Radio Stream is also accessible on the public page, where you don't need to be a member to listen. Radio Talent reserves the right, at any time, to make this only accessible to members.

6. CONNECTIVITY
6.1 Radio Talent will, subject to any Force Majeure Event, use its commercially reasonable efforts to keep Radio Talent online, available and functional (Uptime).
6.2 Failure to maintain Uptime shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement.

7. ACCOUNT SECURITY
7.1 Radio Talent Membership is non-transferable, whether temporarily or permanently.
7.2 You shall not acquire any rights to your Radio Talent Membership ID or password selected by you or assigned to you by Radio Talent. Radio Talent reserves the right to change the same, at its sole discretion, without (to the maximum extent permitted by law) being liable to you for any loss or damage of any nature whatsoever (whether direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, exemplary or consequential) suffered.
7.3 You are solely responsible for any and all activities and transactions performed under your Radio Talent Membership ID. This includes but is not limited to any and all use of the Services and for any and all User Content posted, promoted or transmitted under your Radio Talent Membership ID.
7.4 Any transaction or use of the Site under your Radio Talent Membership ID which is authenticated by your password shall be deemed to be by you, on your behalf or as your agent, with due authorisation from you at all times. Any transaction made on the Site under your Radio Talent Membership ID shall be binding on you.
7.5 You are solely responsible for the confidentiality of your Radio Talent Membership ID and password (including but not limited to changing your password from time to time and not releasing the information to third parties).
7.6 You shall notify Radio Talent immediately if you become aware of, or have any reason to believe, that there is any unauthorized use of your Radio Talent Membership ID or any other breach of security. You agree to co-operate with Radio Talent in all such security investigations and to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Radio Talent for costs, losses, damages, proceedings, claims, liabilities or expenses arising from such use or misuse. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Radio Talent will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this requirement.
7.7 Radio Talent reserves the right to suspend access or change access to your account upon notification by you that your password has been lost, stolen or otherwise compromised.

8. GRANT OF LICENCE TO RADIO TALENT
8.1 You acknowledge that by posting, uploading, transmitting or submitting any User Content on or through the Site, you automatically grant Radio Talent and Radio Talent's affiliates an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, worldwide, royalty-free licence (with the right to sub-licence) to use, store, copy, display, publish, transmit, transfer, distribute, reproduce, create derivative works of, incorporate into other works and publicly perform or display that User Content on the Site or for any purpose Radio Talent deems necessary in connection with the Site or any of the Services.
8.2 In respect of any information or User Content which you submit to Radio Talent using the Site, you warrant that you own the User Content or otherwise have the right to grant the licences specified in this clause, and that the submitting or posting of the User Content does not infringe the confidentiality, Intellectual Property rights or any other rights of any person. You hereby agree to grant Radio Talent and Radio Talent's affiliates, an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, world-wide, royalty-free licence (with the right to sub-licence) to use such information or User Content for any purpose it deems necessary including (without limitation) the copying, transmission, distribution, broadcast and publication thereof, unless restricted by applicable law.

9. RADIO TALENT MEMBERS' RESPONSIBILITIES
9.1 You shall be solely responsible for the set-up, configuration or compatibility of your hardware, equipment and software for access to the Site and you shall provide at your own expense all facilities or resources necessary for such proper access.
9.2 You must not use or allow any part of the Site to be used:
9.2.1 to acquire or attempt to acquire passwords, financial or personal information from Radio Talent Members;
9.2.2 to use an obscene or offensive handle or name;
9.2.3 to engage in actions designed to disrupt or otherwise reduce other Radio Talent Members' enjoyment of the Site;
9.2.4 to interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks connected to the service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, Site Policies, or regulations of networks connected to the service; and/or
9.2.5 to create any other circumstances whereby other Radio Talent Members are affected in their access to, and use of, the Site.
9.3 Radio Talent reserves the right (in its sole and absolute discretion) to delete any Content (including User Content) which Radio Talent determines to be in violation of the Terms and Conditions and/or Site Policies and/or in some or any way objectionable as determined by Radio Talent.

10. SITE CONTENT
10.1 You acknowledge and agree that:
10.1.1 information, Content, User Content and materials which you find published on the Site may be the property of Radio Talent or others, and may be protected by and/or contain various Intellectual Property rights, including without limitation copyright and trade mark rights. You may not copy, redistribute or commercially exploit such materials without the express written permission of the owner(s) of such information or materials; and/or
10.1.2 you may be able to access third party internet sites and services from the Site. You acknowledge that Radio Talent has no control over such third party internet sites and services, and that to the maximum extent permitted by law Radio Talent is not responsible or liable in any way for any activities and/or content of such third party internet sites. Radio Talent makes no representation of any endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation or approval by Radio Talent, its related bodies corporate, directors or officers of the content, products or services appearing in such third party Internet sites.
10.2 Any unauthorised use, copying or distribution of Content and/or User Content is expressly prohibited by law, and may result in severe civil and criminal penalties.
10.3 Radio Talent reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion (but is under no obligation) to refuse to post, delete or edit any information or User Content that you submit or enter into the Site. You agree that you will not hold, nor seek to hold, Radio Talent liable for the loss of data or the misappropriation or infringement of any Intellectual Property right to which you claim ownership.
10.4 You must not do anything that would cause Radio Talent or the Site to be brought into disrepute.
10.5 Where expressly provided for by Radio Talent on the Site, Content may be available for download by you. In respect of such Content, Radio Talent hereby grants you a non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable, royalty-free right to download such Content for your personal and non-commercial use only. You shall not sub-license, distribute, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, decompile, or reverse engineer such Content without the prior written consent of Radio Talent.

11. PROVISION OF INFORMATION
11.1 You are required to provide information about yourself for registration or otherwise which is complete and accurate. You may update the information online from time to time or by contacting Radio Talent at contact@radiotalent.com.au
11.2 You must promptly inform Radio Talent of any:
11.2.1 changes in your contact details;
11.2.2 breaches of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorised disclosure or use of your Radio Talent Membership ID or password; and
11.2.3 changes in your e-mail address.
11.3 Radio Talent excludes any liability resulting from or in connection with any failure by you to advise Radio Talent of any change in your personal details.
11.4 Until Radio Talent receives notice of a breach of security, you remain fully liable for any unauthorised use under your Radio Talent Membership ID.

12. PRIVACY
12.1 Unless restricted by applicable law, you agree that any and all personal information/data relating to you collected by Radio Talent from the Site from time to time may be used and disclosed for such purposes and to such persons as may be in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and Radio Talent's Privacy Statement.
12.2 You agree that Radio Talent shall not be under any obligation of confidence to you regarding User Content posted, uploaded or transmitted to Radio Talent by you on the Site unless agreed otherwise in a separate direct contract between you and Radio Talent or as required by law.
12.3 All areas and portions of the Site are considered public and, as such, there is no expectation of privacy or confidentiality. Radio Talent reserves the right to maintain, and make use of any so-called chat logs, and any other means that it deems in its sole and absolute discretion necessary and/or appropriate, to ensure that users of the Site are complying with the Terms and Conditions and/or any applicable Site Policies.

13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
13.1 Radio Talent is the owner or authorised user of any and all Intellectual Property rights and interests in the Site and Content (which does not include User Content). This includes (but is not limited to) text, films, graphics, links and sounds which are published on the Site.
13.2 Radio Talent may make certain Content available for you to download. You must not assume that you are permitted to download Content. You may only download Content if Radio Talent expressly informs you that you may do so. In such situations, Radio Talent grants you a non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to download such Content for your personal and non-commercial use only. You must not otherwise copy, download, sub-license, distribute, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise deal with any such Content or components of the Site without Radio Talent's prior written consent.
13.3 Although Radio Talent authorises you to view and access the Site solely for your personal and non-commercial use, you may not otherwise copy, download, distribute, display, perform, adapt, modify, publish, create derivative works from, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise deal with in any way all or any of the Content of the Site without Radio Talent's prior written consent.
13.4 All marks, business and trade names, indicia of origin and logos (whether registered or unregistered), including but not limited to "Radio Talent" and "RadioConnect.net" used on the Site (unless otherwise stated) are trade marks, service marks and Intellectual Property rights held by Radio Talent. No permission or licence is granted to use any of Radio Talent's Intellectual Property rights without Radio Talent's prior written consent. You must not use or register as a trade mark, business name or domain name any word, trade mark, name or logo that is similar to those used by or associated with Radio Talent.

14. NO WARRANTIES
14.1 Radio Talent makes no warranties on the future availability of any Content on the Site (including User Content). Radio Talent reserves the right to modify, discontinue or remove any Content or User Content on or from the Site at any time, for any reason, without any advance notice to Radio Talent Members.
14.2 Radio Talent does not guarantee that any emails sent from the Site will be received by you or received by Radio Talent if sent by you nor does Radio Talent warrant the privacy and/or security of e-mails during Internet transmission.
14.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Radio Talent makes no guarantee, endorsement, representation or warranty, term or condition of any kind, express, implied or statutory regarding the Site and its operation, or the Content or User Content. Radio Talent is not under any obligation to provide any backup or technical support or service whatsoever in connection with the Site.
14.4 Radio Talent makes no guarantee, endorsement, representation or warranty, term or condition in respect of any accuracy, quality, completeness, timeliness, satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a general or particular purpose, non-infringement or title of any software, communications, transmissions, information, data, product or Service provided pursuant to the Site.

15. INDEMNITY
15.1 Without prejudice to the other provisions of the terms and conditions and to any other rights and remedies which Radio Talent may possess, to the maximum extent permitted by law, you hereby agree to indemnify and hold Radio Talent harmless at all times against all actions, proceedings, costs, Claims, expenses (including all legal costs on a full indemnity basis), demands, liabilities, losses (whether direct, indirect or consequential) and damages (whether in tort, contract or otherwise) whatsoever and howsoever arising, including without limitation Claims made by third parties and Claims for defamation, infringement of Intellectual Property rights, death, bodily injury, wrongful use of computers, unauthorised or illegal access to computers (including but not limited to hacking), property damage or pecuniary losses which Radio Talent may sustain, incur, suffer or pay arising out of, in connection with or pursuant to your access to and/or your use of the Site, whether or not such access or use was authorised or whether it was due to any act or omission on your part, your violation of this Agreement including any abusive or unlawful behaviour on the part of you or anyone using your Radio Talent Membership ID or password, and/or infringement of any Intellectual Property or other right of any person in connection with your use of any portion of the Site or your Radio Talent Membership ID.

16. EXCLUSION/LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
16.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Radio Talent disclaims all liability (including any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damage or loss) suffered or incurred by any person, whether directly or indirectly, by reason of any use or misuse of, or reliance upon, the Site, including but not limited to any loss, damage or expense arising from or in connection with any defect, error, imperfection, fault, mistake or inaccuracy in, of, or on the part of (as is applicable) the Site or its Content, User Content, the downloadable Content, or due to any unavailability of the Site or any part thereof or any Content, User Content or associated products or services.
16.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Radio Talent assumes no responsibility, and shall not be liable, for any damage your computer equipment or other property, or for any loss or corruption of data arising from your access to, use of, uploading or downloading of any Content or User Content to or from the Site, howsoever caused, whether by reason of software and/or hardware issues, including but not limited to viruses, so-called Trojan horses, worms, software bombs or similar items or processes.
16.3 If you become entitled to obtain any legal remedy for breach of this Agreement, then to the maximum extent permitted by law that remedy will be limited to the right:
16.3.1 if the breach relates to goods – the replacement or repair of the goods, the supply of equivalent goods or the payment of the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; or
16.3.2 if the breach relates to services, the re-supply of the services or the payment of the cost of having the services re-supplied.
16.4 Without limiting the above, to the maximum extent permitted by law Radio Talent shall not have any liability for any delay or default in its operation of the Site caused by circumstances beyond its control including but not restricted to acts of God, epidemics, acts of the public, enemy, decrees or restraints by governmental authorities, telecommunications, computer or utilities failure, strikes, war, riots, insurrections, civil commotion and other causes of such nature. In any of the events mentioned above, Radio Talent shall for the duration of such event, be relieved of any such obligation under these Terms and Conditions as is affected by the said event. Provided that the provisions of the Terms and Conditions shall remain in force with regard to all other obligations which are not affected by such event. And provided further that the parties shall resume their full obligations under these Terms and Conditions upon the cessation of such event.
16.5 You acknowledge that the circumstances could arise in which the remedies and limitations on liability set forth in these Terms and Conditions may appear insufficient to you. In light of the terms hereunder, Radio Talent and you have agreed that the limited remedies and liabilities set out herein are part of a reasonable allocation of the risks and benefits of the Agreement between Radio Talent and you, taking all relevant factors into consideration including the value of the consideration provided by you and the availability of costs of insurance with respect to the said risks.

17. INTERPRETATION
17.1 In case of any conflict or inconsistency between any provision of the Terms and Conditions and any provision of the Site Policies as applicable to Radio Talent Members in relation to the Site, such conflict or inconsistency will be resolved in a manner most favourable to Radio Talent.
17.2 However, if such conflict or inconsistency cannot be resolved, the provisions of the Terms and Conditions will prevail over the provisions of the Site Policies.

18. GOVERNING LAW
18.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

19. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX
19.1 Unless otherwise stated, GST is not applicable to any amount payable.

20. GENERAL
20.1 These Terms and Conditions may be amended by Radio Talent at any time, such amendments to take effect immediately upon posting of the amendments on the Site.
20.2 You must not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without the prior written consent of Radio Talent. Radio Talent may assign or transfer its rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions at any time without obtaining your consent.
20.3 You must do everything necessary or reasonably required by Radio Talent to give full effect to the purposes, and transactions contemplated by, these Terms and Conditions.
20.4 The relationship between the parties is and will remain that of independent contractors, and nothing in these Terms and Conditions constitutes the parties as partners or joint venturers or constitutes any party as the agent of another party or gives rise to any other form of fiduciary relationship between the parties.
20.5 No waiver by a party of any breach or default by any other party is effective unless reduced to writing and signed by the party making such waiver, and any such waiver does not constitute a waiver of any other continuing breach or default under these Terms and Conditions.
20.6 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is prohibited, invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that provision will, as to that jurisdiction, be ineffective to the extent of the prohibition, invalidity or unenforceability without invalidating the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions or affecting the validity or enforceability of that provision in any other jurisdiction.
20.7 Each party warrants, undertakes and represents to the other party that it has the necessary power and authority to execute, deliver and perform this Agreement and to become bound by it and that all necessary action has been taken to authorise the execution of this Agreement.



PRIVACY STATEMENT


In accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000) (Commonwealth) Radio Talent complies with the 10 National Privacy Principles. Radio Talent takes its obligations under the Privacy Act seriously and would like to take all reasonable steps in order to comply with the Act and protect the privacy of the personal information that we hold.

Disclosure

Radio Talent believes that personal information, including your purchase histories, email addresses etc belong to you. To service you better, we collect this type of information when you provide it to us, but we do not rent, sell or trade your personal information to others without your consent.

From time to time your personal details will need to be passed on to third party data who perform parts of our service delivery as part of our legitimate business operation, such as technical partners, web hosts and potential employers, some of whom may be located outside of Australia.

Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that are transferred to your computer's hard drive via your Web browser. They allow us to provide you with a more convenient and personalised shopping experience by recording information about your preferences. Note that the information in your cookies can be requested only by http://www.radiotalent.com.au; your browser will not pass these cookies to any other site.

Security

Radio Talent will take all reasonable steps to store your personal information securely. Information stored within our computer systems can only be accessed by those entrusted with authority and computer network password sanctions.



PAYMENT TERMS


Radio Talent uses SecurePay to provide a secure environment for the authorisation of credit card and charge card transactions. Confidential information including card details are encrypted using industry standard SSL 128-bit encryption technology



AIRCHECK GUIDELINES


  • All feedback should be used in conjunction with any direction you are being given by your current employer
  • It is designed to give you another point of view, celebrating the things you are doing well and giving suggestions on how you can improve
  • The information and audio obtained during an Aircheck maybe used at any stage to facilitate recruitment
  • You will receive the Aircheck feedback via your nominated email address
  • You can claim one Aircheck per fortnight

HOW TO RECORD TALK BREAKS AT HOME


If you don't have access to a studio, here are some options on how to record your talk breaks. They are mostly free and, although they won't give you amazing audio, it will be suitable for showcasing your skills.

iPhone (and some iPods)

  • Make sure you are in a quiet location with limited echo (your cupboard is a good spot !)
  • Go to Utilities menu
  • Choose Voice Memos
  • Speak into the microphone to test before recording
  • Press Record (left hand side)
  • Speak normally into the phone
  • When you have finished recording your talk break press Stop (right hand side)
  • Press the List button (right hand side)
  • The list of recordings appear. For each recording you want to send do the following...
  • Press Share
  • Choose Email then email it to yourself
  • Go to your email inbox and save the audio to your desktop naming it First Name, Last Name, Break Number
  • Drag the audio into iTunes
  • Right click on the audio and convert to an mp3
  • Go to the mp3 version of the audio, right click, choose Show in Finder
  • Drag or copy that file to your desktop
  • This is the file you should Upload to RadioTalent.com.au



iPad

The app mentioned above for the iPhone is available here for the iPad (a small fee applies).


Mac

The best option on the Mac is GarageBand.

  • Open GarageBand
  • Select New Project
  • Choose Voice
  • Click Create with default settings
  • The first track should default to be in record mode
  • On the right hand side choose "No Effects" in the far right column
  • Press the big red record button at base of the screen
  • Speak normally into the computer microphone
  • Press space bar to stop recording
  • Move the White arrow to move the line to where you want to play, Space Bar will play again
  • Edit the audio by double clicking on the audio, a larger screen will appear at the base
  • Only do one talk break at a time before Sharing
  • Once recorded click Share on the top menu
  • Select 'Send Song to iTunes'
  • Enter any Playlist name and make sure Compress is selected and mp3 encoder and higher quality chosen
  • Share
  • It will automatically pop up in your iTunes Playlist
  • Right click the audio, Get Info then name the file with First Name, Last Name, Break Number
  • Go to the audio, right click, choose Show in Finder
  • Drag or copy that file to your desktop
  • This is the file you should Upload to RadioTalent.com.au



Windows 7
  • Make sure you have a microphone connected to your computer
  • Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, then click Sound Recorder
  • Click Start Recording
  • To stop recording audio, click Stop Recording
  • Click the File name box, name it First Name, Last Name, Break Number, then click Save
  • Drag the audio into iTunes
  • Right click on the audio and convert to an mp3
  • Go to the mp3 version of the audio, right click, choose Show in Finder
  • Drag or copy that file to your desktop
  • This is the file you should Upload to RadioTalent.com.au


Many of the above ways to record audio can work using the microphone on the machine itself. For better results a basic microphone will improve the audio.


There are also some free apps available.
